Hi I have the m1710 with xp and love it but I wanted a small portable so I went out and bought a sony ux380 which is cool but not for me ..so Im selling it and need a small portable I dont want to loose speed as I am a power user. I plan to keep my 1710 for games but want the 1210 as my primary computer.(lots of multitasking but no games.) The 1210 seems to be a great fit but it seems that it has the most problems on this board..is this a good reliable model in general? 2.33 core 2 duo ,7200 100gb hd,256 gpu ,2gb ram, draft N card...ect.Dont want to make another +2000.00 mistake  as I did with the sony UX. Thanxs your opinion is helpful :D My wife is ready to kill me. 3 computers in 3 months.ha.ha. :D

My brother has an M1210 and it has no problems [excluding the minor keyboard flex].
The reason many M1210 problems were reported here is because it really is a best-seller laptop.
BTW, that GPU is not 256MB it is 64MB dedicated + 192MB allocated from the memory when required.
Putting that aside, if the form factor and thickness and the keyboard layout doesn't matter to you. This is one of your best options. ;)
(As for the last line, I think some members here can give you some life-saving tips ;) )

Thanxs I need a small notebook 12 inch but still want all the power of my 1710 to do lots of videos ect. My price range is a max of 3000.00. I am looking for the best model in size group. I would like a core 2 duo prefer the 2.33 ghz. Would like to be able to squeeze 4 hours of web surrfing on the battery. Want Vista...and want this notebook to run it very well ie..window aero.
Size and speed are big factors. I would not be gaming on this....mabey somthing simple older game but its not a factor. thnxs :D

If you want battery, go with the Intel graphics, it makes a *big* difference. Especially since you have a gaming system.

I'm only kidding you, but maybe you should try and take some college courses yourself, like Economics 101! 3 computers in 3 months!
