    Help strange sounds and smoke

    Hello,
    I have a dell inspiron laptop 1721 i got a year ago. All of a sudden its making clicking sounds sometimes on the side where there are vents and then poof smoke pops out and its done. Its done this like four times so far and i am scared its dangerous and that it might ruin my computer.

    I have same problems in my Lenovo 3000 N100...The smoke was coming from the connector joining LCD with the mainboard .So I opened it up and found a burnt LCD cable ..Something might be getting burnt in your lappy ...Just open around from area u getting the smoke ..

    is it still under warranty? I'd be sending that back before it sets you on fire!

    Call DELL right now tell them your computer is smoking and they will replace it no questions asked. Stop using it, if it is smoking obviously something is not right inside. I would suggest not using it any longer!!
