    Hi

Could anybody with a 1505 WSXGA+ LG or another good display tell me the model and the Dell part code ?

I received my 1505 2 days ago and I like it a lot, but I got a Samsung display(SEC) and I fill it is not bright enough, and the colors could be better.

Another thing it is the 9 cell battery, acts like a 6 cell one showing only 4 hours when totally full(I could get almost it out of my 1405 w/ a 6 cell)

I also noticed it is loosing charge slowly even with the machine off. (i know it happens normally, but not about a quart per day.

So, I don't know if worth ask Dell to send me a replacement display and change it myself, ask to get a new Laptop or just return it.

I like the machine besides this two problems, but I don't know if I can handle a dark screen, indoor it is looking ok, but outdoor, it is weak.

Go to the support section of the website and enter your service tag.

I have the Samsung. I won't ever use it outside so, that's a non-issue, and the TrueLife would make that a miserable proposition regardless. I think it's look ok, although the view angles seem a little fussy. It has a definite sweet spot.

How much better are these LG screens? And is just knowing that there is a better screen in the parts bin enough of a reason to complain for a new laptop?

Sharpness is not an issue, the fonts and so forth are excellent. Saturation is great as well. I could see how it could use a little more range in the contrast.

    Hi Count,

I already know the part number of my screen, I need to know the part number for the LG one as seems like they are brighter than the SECs.

I also like the sharpness of the SEC screen, and after a better look, the colors are decent and the glossy finish it is not an issue outside as long I ajuste the screen angle.

My problem it is with the backlight, even at maximum, I fell like it could go one or two notches up in brightness.

About complaining, I just think if the product still inside the returning window and it is not satisfactory as it should be, there is nothing wrong in ask for one in good shape or return it for a refund.

I like this machine, I am just not happy about the battery and the brightness, and this is not a Dell bash, as I think they do make good machines, specially considering their awesome prices
