    Help with DELL Outlet !

    I just recieved my e1405 from dell outlet which is reffurbished unit.
    Well when i started it , it doesnt load windows and it shows :
    windows cannot start because the following file is missing or corrupt
    windows\system32\config\system
    you can start repair...

    and it also has two white stuck pixels , which im aware of having it.
    DELL didnt send me any windows disks to try reapiring it.

    I dont know what to do? Do i have to insist for replacement of this unit because i dont like dead pixels. will they repair it?

    also im leaving USA in one month to Europe and im wondering of returning it back for refund or wait for fixing it. but im not sure will they repair the pixels.

    Its Core Duo 1.67, 1GB DDR2, 100GB 5400, WXGA, IntelPRO, 6-cell for 715$ incl. TAX.

    How long will it take for replacement, can i get refund without restocking fee, and will they send me new uint?

    It wont hurt by trying to call. Replacement might take 1-2 weeks. Ask for a CD. Im sure they will send you one

    id return it outright. Try your luck again with another refurb or like others, you might get a completely new unit at the same price. You have valid complaints that you dont want a computer with pixel issues and more importantly doesnt even function properly upon first boot up.

    yes i prefer to return it because i just hate dead pixels, i constantly look for them on the screen trying to find where they're , but will they give me another notebook or they will refund my money?

    Do I have to pay for the shipping back to DELL and will they arrange to pick it up by UPS or i have to send it by myself?

    dell will pay for it as I got a replacement for my desktop system and did not have to pay shipping

    just get on chat with them and ask for the call tag, they are good about that.

    I just called and they advised me to run Symantec System Restore, by pressing CNTRL + F11 in the beginning. I'll try that and let you know.

    I tried and the notebook hangs on for 1 hour until my battery was dead.
    I started the notebook and windows starts to load , until a blank screen comes and thats it. What do i have to ask dell for?

    go and say that I just recieved my notebook and many problems occurred. I called before about.... and then the representative told me to do a dell restore. But doing so made my problem even worse by not booting and the notebook hangs when trying to start. Since I am in the 21 day return instead of returning could I please recieve a replacement?
