Hi, im new to the forum and i just bought the inspiron E1705 a few weeks ago. I am just getting used to it and i was wondering if anyone knew anything about the way the wireless card worked. I work at a gas station and my friend can connect wirelessly to the internet just fine, even though the signal strength is low. I on the other hand, try to connect to the same host and it says i am unable to connect. If anyone can give me a hand with this i would greatly appreciate it. Also, if there is a site anyone knows of about the ins-and-outs of the E1705 and how to make it run to the best of it's ability and nice ways to customize it i would appreciate it as well. thank you.

You might want to update the drivers. Sometimes the driver from Intel's site works better.

Do like the others stated - and update the drivers.

As far as tweaking and all of that, we have a few guides dedicated to that here. If you are interested in formatting your laptop and getting rid of the junkware, I have a format guide (link in sig) which gives you all the directions/tips, etc. We also have a "How to optimize your laptop" guide which goes over all of the tweaks to do in XP such as cutting down your number of processess running, get faster shut down/boot up time, etc. This guide is located in our Dummy Forum.
