I have the 1720 with the WUXGA Screen. Sometimes when I go to websites they are very small and only take up half the page when I maximize it. How do I fix this?

If you mean half vertically then that's normal. It's probably because it's like that in the code of the website. That whole "best viewed at..." thing. I think... well I get it too.

Do you mean the entire window is maximized but it only fills up half of the window? That would be because the website only goes on for so much... like printing two sentences on a full piece of paper. You won't fill it all up.

If you mean the window only maximizing to half your screen... then that's a problem.

I am seriously thinking about returning for the lower resolution screen since I am not use to all of this. Should I just try to get used to the better resolution or return?

How much trouble would the replacement process be? I've never dealt with a return/replacement, but if it's relatively straightforward I would go with it. This is what you'll be looking at everyday, so you should be happy with it. To be honest, I went for a high resolution because it allows me to work with more items at once... basically I can use multiple programs or I have more workspace for something like photoshop and what not. If you don't need that space and all you do is browse through text, make sure you're comfortable with it.

That's probably because these laptop screens are really sharp. I don't think there would be much of a difference between resolution, if you get the same type of lcd except in a different resolution. However, you will be able to see more detail in a picture if you maximize it, because it's less compressed. However, if your picture's resolution is smaller than the full resolution, it wouldn't make much of a difference, in my opinion.
