I'm following the guide that was posted here about using nlite, etc., to get XP onto my Vostro 1700...

OK, problem. I created the install disk with nlite. When I go to use it, Windows disk runs, but the option to install windows is greyed out! I then just tried using the actual windows cd, and same result, the install option is greyed out.
I'm using an XP cd that came with my Inspiron 8600.
Is it that Vostros won't let you 'downgrade'?? But then how did all of you get it to work?!?

    Help!!!

By the way, I tried rebooting with the disk in the cd drive, thinking it might boot off of it and work that way, but it just seemed to boot from the hard drive since it booted into Vista as usual... :(
