    Hi All.

I am getting a deal on ebay for an XPS Gen 2- 3.4Ghz Multithreaded,2GB RAM, and 100GB HDD.

The only problem that i see is that It does not have a good wireless card
    Dell 1450.

I am getting it at half the price. I have not been able to get any reviews for this notebook, since its about a year old, and already has a better option
    available .

Could you please fill me in with noticeable pitfalls with this notebook.
Need it for Gaming and running an application server as well.

I'm a little confused. Are you talking about getting an XPS Gen 2? or just an XPS ? The gen 2 came out a few months ago, and the XPS came out earlier last year.

With that processor, I'm pretty sure your talking about the first gen XPS.

Only downsides are it runs hot, with that desktop processor, and that the top end video card in the origional xps is outdated compared to the newer 6800 Ultra card in the XPS2, or the Go6800 in the 9300. It aslo has pretty poor battery life, but I doubt you plan on using it unplugged much if your looking to game or serve apps on it.

Unless it's a really, really good deal, I'd look at getting a 9300, with one of the 750.00 off coupons floating around these days. Speced with a 2ghz PentiumM and the Go6800, you will get better performance, lower heat, and better battery life, and possibly a better price.
