Recently got a brand new Dell Inspiron 15 "5565 signature edition" (AMD FX 7th Gen), I like it and it seems like it will work great for me, but so far there have been way too many times when this laptop temporarily slows down/freezes, or apps and web pages temporarily freeze or crash. It's even a little frustrating typing in this forum right now, as the page will freeze for a few seconds or the keyboard keeps stopping so I have to re-click in the box and wait for the words I typed in to catch up on the screen. There is nothing wrong with my internet or the connection.
I know this Dell might be setting itself up still or downloading/updating things I'm not aware of, but I thought it would have flawless performance compared to my 10-year-old Gateway laptop I replaced (at least for internet browsing - my main use for computers). I haven't even transferred any files or music from my old laptop yet. What are some ways to get this Dell working smoother and faster? Please let me know about any tips or tricks, things to download or install that might help, what to do with antivirus programs (if that will help), whether or not to stay signed in to Windows account, etc.

Also, I have a stereo system I like to keep connected to my laptops through the headphone jack, but for some reason the audio is still only coming from the laptop speakers on this Dell after plugging the AUX wire in. How can I fix this? Thanks

Have you tried updating the drivers and making sure Windows is up to date?
