Hi I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 that's going a little down hill. I was wondering if there was another way to make it like when I just got it (at least hdd wise I know deteriorating CPU, RAM, etc... won't recover). I've read about a Factory Reset, but I don't have any recovery disks (Dell never gave me any, the disks I mean are the ones to boot Windows XP and any other disks you can think of, I think people only mean the OS disks...right?) System Restore isn't an option because to save memory my laptop cleans any restore points older than a month. So again is there any way to get my laptop back to near-out-of-the-box condition, that doesn't require System Restore, or OS recovery disks?

    Thanks a lot.

Just call Dell and ask for recovery disks. They should ship them free. If not, you can order from Microsoft for like $10.

Use the recovery disk to format your hard drive and erase everything on it, and install Windows fresh.
