Active Directory is your answer.

Even with active directory you will have to login each time you connect to a mapped drive. Once you map it to the PC and an account that is logged in you don't have to login to access it anymore (unless you disconnect and reconnect). Now if your looking to make it so anyone can use their login then you will need to set the permissions accordingly for the folder.

Well, you still have to use Active Directory anyway. You just have to know the different between share and NTFS permission. Of course, you need to set some permission on the folder, but the credential is still based on Active Directory database.
