Ok, I just recently went to install a fresh copy of Vista Home Basic on an Inspiron E1505 and when I went to install a clean copy I noticed that dell had made 3 partitions, (my hdd is 80GB) one with 68 some GB, one with 4.7GB, and one with whatever was left. I wanted to combine the partitions, so I assumed that 'delete'-ing the others would solve the problem. Deleted the first one, didn't add space to the original partition. Then I decided to try extend for the other partition, and that worked, but I am still missing that 6 or 7 some GB that went when I deleted the first partition. Is there any way of getting that space back?

    Thanks!

Try out GParted, and merge the unallocated space left.
