This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Help, Dell 5150 and Widescreen Dell E228WFP

    I have a Dell Inspiron 5150 with a ATI Mobility 9000.

    I have purchased a Dell Widescreen E228WFP (1680x1050@60hz) and cannot get the laptop to display the 1680x1050 resolution option. I have tried to update the monitor drivers but XP states that there are no drivers in the folder. When I look at the display option is does show a E228WFP monitor on one of the monitors.

    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Even if it is on editing the registry to add the resolution.
