Okay, not sure what could be wrong but I need some help to rectify this problem.
Burner on e1505 won't recognize blank CD-R disc. I am trying to write something on it and the XP writer keeps telling me to insert a blank disc when I have one in there. I've tried other blank discs but nothing. I tried using the free Sonic utility that is on the e1505 but same thing. right now the file is sitting there ready to be written to a CD.
I know the burner works because I just got done watching a DVD on it yesterday with no problems.
I googled this and the only thing I see to rectify this problem is to use a CD cleaning disc? Is that really what the problem is? Why am I able to use other discs in it but not write something?
    Anyone else have this problem?

I just want to give props to Dell tech support. Gentleman was very patient, tried some different things to fix my problem and then determined that the drive needed to be replaced. A new one is on its way to me and will be here in a few days. Luckily I had purchased an extended warranty so everything is taken care of. Thanks Dell!
