    Hi every one,
I recently made a mistake of ordering a dell..
Its not that the laptop I ordered was stupid (reasonably good, with one small defect of a gt550 gddr3..)

I did get a good deal.

But what troubles me is dell is calling me a liar..

    Now thats uncalled for..

There was a weekly offer on dell website called 'update week'....which releaved me off the $105 on the 3d glass with the xps17.

Now in the frenzy,of ordering I forgot to ask about that offer to the customercare agent..so eventually I was billed for the glasses..

Now when I saw it, I thought what the hell i'll just ask the customer care agn, and if I get it fine, otherwise I ll just leave it..

So I chatted with customer care they kept telling me "sir that offer is not valid any more, shall I help u order a new one with the present offers?"
    I told them,i ordered already.
So they where like please call this number '' '' this is where they handle these issues.

So I just rang them up..
    And explained everything..
They apologized and asked me to wait for a while..came back and said "sir there is no such offer..and we cant help u, unless you provide us with a link for that"

Since it was only there on the web page (a recycling kind if symbol with a dot in the centre) and
Since they, updated their web page ...i couldnt get it..
And whats more, I am sure I am not wrong,...since the customer care agents whom I chatted with said 'that offer expired'..why wud they say that if I was making it up? (or how could they know anything about a made up offers status?)

Any ways this left me offended..so now I

am trying any way to find any evidence online that supports my case
I thank you for your patience and time.kindly help me out, any way you can, I would really appreciate it.

PS: Sorry if pasted this in the wrong section please direct me to the right one..i will do so..

Just get your order number and let them take a look at it.
Also, if you could, you can get the discounts and other summary in the receipt which is found in your dell account.

But the invoice doesnt say anything about tge offers..and I dunno if I ve a dell account...i mean when we ordered all,we did was fill in the form they gave us..and use the card in the end..
But the invoice has the amount on the glass..

And inorder to write to them..i am supposed to give them my order numbr , customer number and purchase id...plus I gave them all these when I rang them up on phone as well...:-(

I yried googling fer expired offers for.the.last month of september...i cudnt find any (dunno if its my fault)

I took a screen snap of everything else except that...!

You would have needed a coupon code or something for it, i don't think it's Dell's fault at all - you admitted that you forgot about it. If i had forgotten to use the $315 off coupon code when i ordered my Dell laptop, it would have been my fault. Not theirs.

Well this was not a coupon deal...it was a weekly deal..one that is included normaly...besides there was no coupon for this at all..
    Its more like the
7 day shipping deal..(which is still available on the dell website..that I got, which I did not ask for or give a coupon number for)

I hope u understand this is that kind of limited time weekly offers..

By 'forgot' what I meant is I was planning to ask them what this 'update week' fiasco meant...but didnt..

It's no different to buying ANY other good/service and forgetting to take advantage of a special offer. It's up to you to inquire, not them to ask.

So again, you forgot, so it's your fault.

Just because you forgot to ask them, now you're saying that buying from Dell was a mistake. Bad-mouthing them because you forgot something isn't right or fair to them.

I just purchased a brand new M11x from Dell, i got a $315 off coupon which i used, and when i found out that the shipping date was going to be 10/17/2011 (after i had placed the order) i contacted them and said "I won't be in the country to sign for the package, i leave on 10/15/2011". They were nice enough to give me a FREE upgrade to Next Business Day delivery.

I am not bad mouthing..like I said I appreciate the offer they gave me...$429 + $150 off on a coupon (which I typed in)
Its a great buy..and infact they guided me through a lot...for which I am thankful...
And that was the reason why I wasnt so particular about the $100 of on the glasses...

Ideally, I dont ve to ask for it...since it was there on their website...if someone clicks on an icon with an offer, its understood that they WANT that offer, its a no brainer...like the inc $429 I had on the system I didnt ask for it! They just gave it, since it was there online...
I am sure u had to type in the coupon for your $315 discount, since that was not on the online pricing..

The reason why I am so bent over this issue is because one of them said that such an offer doesnt exist...ie, something they posted online...when I brought it up..they denied it..
Now even though its unreasonable to deny their own offer..i would def ve over looked if they hadnt brought up the 'u just made that up' image..!

I am sure most people would react the same way if this happens to them...

I gave them a good review even after this
Plus I ve suggested this system to many..
    (with the deal )

And till now I vnt used any names or any thing in particular even when I wrote to the customer care...since I wanted to make sure that everything ends well too (if this does become a matter)

You have to realize that MOST of the people you will deal with won't be actual Dell employees. (unless it's for tech support). The people who put through your order are just people working in a marketing center in the middle if India somewhere.

They only know what Dell has put through on their system, they don't have access to the entire Dell database. So if they can't see it on their system and you forgot to get the details for that deal, then there's nothing they can really do about it.

Or you can make a enquiry with a senior Dell employee.

    @Rishwin.
Well if you analyse what you said you find that 'its not a customers fault'.
Now that is exactly what I have been saying so far.

I have decided to go along with what spradhan01 suggested, since that is a great suggestion.
I thank you for your time and opinion, have a good day :)

Well they did contact me...and for the first time someone actually said 'i will look into the records for you...it might take a while, please be patient' and I told him 'the exact sentence as above.. :)
    Thanx to you..spradhan01..
Now I am at peace... :)
And I got the lap too...its a good device..
Apart from that single issue everything else, was great...infact I suggested the same system to people here and outside..
