8 GB RAM... 2x4GB modules. Interesting... I hope dell isn't cheating and putting 4x2GB DIMMs.

If that's the new precision, Michael Dell's bonkers... It is the e1705. With black bumpers instead of white.

Good grief, that machine continues to be one ugly toad. You would think they could at least follow the M4300 styling. Way too much to expect these guys from Bedrock, sorry, Round Rock to allow some of the M1330 styling to slip in.

They don't have a 17" version of the Latitude design you're talking about.

I didn't know 4GD SODIMMs even existed... I extremely doubt they fit in 4 DIMMs.

I am purely commenting on the exterior styling. The M90 is one of the few notebooks offering the 3500 Quadro GPU which I want. I am holding off because I just can't stand the M90 styling. The Sager 9260 will offer the 3500 option mid Sept and where that notebook is no beauty queen, it still trumps the M90 (M6300) IMO.

Precisions are way too expensive, and I'm convinced that's the reason why there's no 17" Latitude -- they wouldn't sell many 17" Precisions. For a DTR, the Vostro 1700 is certainly no slouch at about a third the price, and a D830 is just a bit smaller and in "real" terms probably just as good for most purposes. Why would anyone spend $3k+ on a BUSINESS notebook, let alone a DTR???

    Please correct me,
I think DELL has two Precision model series,
    1) MXXXX
    2) MXX

    1st category, like m4300, m6300

    2nd category, like m65, m90

So I think m6300 is not a replacement for m90, its for m4300.
So 2 digit replacement model for M90 is yet to come!!!

    Any comments?

i still like m90, its got 512 mb dedi vid mem!

    Thanks!

Do you people even realize what the Quadro 3600M can do?

It's a desktop replacement, aka, you don't need a desktop anymore!

I looked at the manual and the dell small business site - on the business site it still says up to 8 GB RAM, bu in the configuration and the manual it is 4GB - like all M965 based systems I know. I assume we have to wait until June and the Montevina chipset to really get 8 GB of RAM and support for quad cpus

Anybody can shed any light on this?

Anyone have a Precision M6300 with the Quadro 3600M? If so, can someone kindly run the 3DMark06 & post the scores?

I just put up an order for the M6300
    With the Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme X9000(2.8GHz,6MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
    NVIDIA® Quadro® FX 3600M with 512MB dedicated graphics memory
    8GB, 667Mhz DDR2 SDRAM Memory (2*4096)

This should hopefully cover my basic needs ;)

And will ofcourse post the 3DMark06 score as soon as I can =)
