Hi, I know this forum is about laptop but I don't know where to post that and maybe some users will be able to reply to my question, so my girlfriend have an XPS 420 (desktop) and the video card is really crappy, I wonder if I can change to another video card without problem, because I know some dells system don't accept other components, so if it is a PCI ATI, can I change it to a PCI card Nvidia, must I flash the BIOS for that?
Thanks in advance and sorry if there is a section for desktop on this forum, I didnt find it.

EDIT: The video card is an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT
    Proc: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 ghz
    2go of RAM

Ok thanks, and how can I know if the motherboard have PCI express 1.0 or 2.0? (I think it's 1.0 because this computer is something like 3 years old but just to be sure)

XPS 420 houses X38 chipset which supports PCI Express 2.0. You should be able to go to any modern video card. However further desktop replaced questions should be posted on DesktopReview, thanks.
