    Hi,
i am new on this forum, i have an Inspiron 6400 laptop. I reinstalled windows XP with the dell supplied OEM CD and then reinstalled all the drivers. Unfortunately, now when i try to suspend the laptop or hibernate it, it experiences some sort of error and enters the blue screen of death.
what could have caused this problem (hardware, software?) and how can i fix it?

There are various Microsoft patches for hibernation issues.

This is one, but Google will point you to some more. I don't think these patches are picked up by Windows update.

Also check you have the latest drivers off the Dell site. Whatever is on the CD may not be the latest versions.
