Google for "Hitachi 5k500". It is in the retail chain in the UK (at about double the cost of the 320GB Fujitsu that I have just bought).

Note that the 5k500 is 1/2" thick and won't fit in the majority of notebooks (as is the 500GB Fujitsu).

The 500GB Samsung (I think it is the M6, not M60 (a notebook)) is also being slow to show up.

Do Seagate have a 320GB drive??

I have a Toshiba 320GB in my M1330 at the moment, and its noisy. I prefer the Seagates in my M1730, which are nice and quiet!

seagate just launched the new 7200.3 series and you are in luck. the highest density is up to 320GB and it's running at 7200RPM.

Please keep in mind what John Ratsey pointed out; that the 500GB Hitachi is considerably thicker than conventional 2.5 inch drives. This is due to the fact that Hitachi didn't increase the platter density; but rather they added one more platter to the drive.

Well ,3mm thicker than normal HDD, doesn´t fit my M570RU, so i don´t think 1330 can take that either....I bought it only to install in the smartbay. :)

I havent created any videos for the M1330, didnt think there would be much interest as there seem to be lots on Youtube already. I could do some videos through - along the same lines as I have done for the M1730?

Or did you just want me to put them side by side for comparison etc?

One has to think 'cool' with laptops.
The dbl platter 500 will run hot and if it could be made to fit within a M1330 you will likely have heating issues. It's not worth it.

Use a 320GB and if you use a lot of big files or programs, b'up to an TB external HD with separate power (so only one USB is used.)

I have a 500GB external drive, so thats not a problem.

TBH space is not an issue for me. I have 320GBin my system already, but its a Toshiba and its a little noisy. I prefer Seagate Momentus drives. I may buy a 320GB Seagate 7200rpm drive, and sell my current 320GB Toshy....
