So, I've got my old m1530 here along with a replacement from del.

The old one has the seagate 7200 200gb, the new has the hitachi.

When I move the hitachi quickly in any direction, there is a LOUD click which I'm assuming is the head parking. When I move the seagate, there is no such click. Note that I'm not talking about the regular 30s clicking that most people complain about, that's extremely quiet compared to what I'm talking about.

Is this normal for the hitachi?

I have the exactly same clicking sound if I make a sudden move with my new M1530. it has a Hitachi 200GB 7200RPM Drive.

maybe should try to get a seagate replacement drive?

You know what.... it's louder then i'd like, but i'm cool with it. I don't think the seagates do the drop detection unless its explicitly turned on, i donth ave the tech page open anymore that says this though.

    The hitachi is faster anyways
