    Here is the situation.

So I ordered a Studio 15 that is currently in production. I did so with a 32 bit version of premium and I am kind of regretting it. Well, it turns out that I have a copy of Ultimate 64 bit that I got cheap through my school laying around after busting my balls getting it to work with the motherboard of my desktop.

My question is do I need to do a clean instillation and, if yes, do the drivers need to be downloaded manually or are they all in one package on Dell's site?

U need to do a clean installation

and the drivers need to be downloaded manually from dell's site(support.dell.com), or you can find a list of them here (search)

anways.. home premium vs ultimate isnt that much of a big difference.... 32bit to 64bit is a bigger upgrde iguess.. besides, u wont want the 'stock' Dell Windows partition filled with bloatware...delete that recovery partition and start a new(with more space :D)

Correct, you will need to perform a clean install since you're going from 32-bit to 64-bit. Fortunately, Dell has all the drivers and utilities for the Studio 15 available for download at the Drivers and Downloads page, and it even has a section for 64-bit Vista. :)

I upgraded to 64-bit myself recently, and found the Dell drivers page very helpful after the initial install. Everything's been running smoothly since then.

Yup, I recommend downloading all the drivers before doing the clean install, so you don't have to worry about it afterward.
