    Hi all.

I am currently purchasing a Latitude D620. When I configure the laptop in the Home section of the Dell website it is much cheaper than done in the small business section. I am wondering why this is so and if the D620 configured in the home section lacks something(s)?

    Thanks

Can you give us a link? The latitudes are only offered in the Small Business Section as well as the EPP section. Dell's home section only has the Inspirons and XPS systems. I'm a bit confused about the D620 being in the Home section.

dell.co.uk has some of the latitudes in both home and small business, i noticed the same thing. i configured the d820 in both sites and got two different prices (small business being the more expensive as well, their were minor differences in the configurations though because the two wouldn't allow me to have exactly the same options, this might explain it?

Well, the Latitudes aren't offered for Home users here in American as SG said, so I would be inclined to just go with the cheaper one assuming it has all of the options you want. Be sure to check the difference in warranties as well.

that's what is making me confused. In the US it isn't, so I don't know if there really is any difference between the two systems or not. My guess is that there isn't and to do like mZimm said - buy the cheapest system.

Over here the differences between prices in the Home & Business section usually has to do with upgrade. The home section is cheaper, but doesn't get as many free upgrades as the Business section. The Business section is more expensive, but they get better free upgrades. I guess in reality, they are really free since they are basically already included in the price.

Also worth mentioning is in America most of the time there are much better coupons offered for the Home buyers. I'm not sure what coupons are offered where you are, but it's worth looking into.

home prices show everything you pay from start to fiish, the small business prices don't include shipping and vat until you get to check-out, probably because businesses can claim back vat, don't forget that if you want the low price they advertise, you have to downgrade the complete care and/or business support

That laptops are the exact same, so configure a laptop in each section with the same specs and choose which ever is cheapest. The only thing that might be different is the warranty, but that looks the same to me. All of the hardware in both sections are the same.

Any reason why I should pruchase from the small business section?

Also, I will want a receipt detailing the VAT/TAX for the purchase so i can reclaim the VAT/TAX on the laptop. Will this be available if I purchase in the Home section?

The differnces I have found between the 2 are:

In the Home section the Laptop is titled Latitude D620 Burner (L07629) while in the Small Business section it is called Latitude D620 Advanced (L07622). Does this make any difference, in particular the codes?

The Laptop on the Small business includes a Gedis Bundle Refernce - L07622 - D620 Advanced July, whats this all about? Not included in the Laptop in the Home section.

    Thanks for everyones help.
