Anyone with any ideas on this? I am just curious. Will the 9300 with 256 video card support my Sony KDSRXBR1 1920x1080 resolution? Do I just need a DVI to HDMI cable? Has anyone done this to any HDTV?

If not, I am thinking of getting the new Apple Mac mini to hook this up. I heard you only need the DVI-HDMI cable to hook to any HDTV and use it as a giant monitor and the DVD playback is awesome.

    Thanks for your inputs.

Should support it...you just need the cable.

just wanted to let you know that i've tried this..

I have a desktop with an ATI 9800 pro video card and it I use DVI out on it to connect to my 56" samsung HDTV. Movies, games, hdtv, all look great.

Just out of curiosity, when my dad visited last week I connected his 9300 with my DVI to HDMI cable and played a dvd. Colors were dull compared to playing it on my regular dvd player. And overall color was dull compared to my 9800 pro. I didn't try to tweak settings or anything (or make a custom resoultion at that) so you may get a better result.

    btw, the 9300 had the 128MB ATIs™ Mobility Radeon™ X300

You really need to adjust the settings for your TV. Also...in my TV which is a 32in HD, there is a setting that adjust automatically for laptops. It is kinda nice...if you tweak your contrast and stuff it should look great. :) Your settings were probably just right when you hooked it up (Lucky dog)! :)

Hey, I hooked up my dell e1705 (with the 7800) to a 50" samsung DLP hdtv with a dvi/hdmi cable. Movies look incredibly good, but I tried Quake 3 (yah I know I need to get some new games!), and I couldn't get the Quake 3 screen to fit perfectly on the tv--maybe Quake 3 does not give me enough resolution options?? Also, the display seemed almost too delayed to really play...maybe this is because I have a DLP...I'm not sure. I also receive some flicker on the tv even on the desktop, when I try to use the higher resolutions. At approximately 1200x600 (I don't remember exactly what it was...but something like that), there is no flicker on the screen...so maybe I just have to stay around there. Any ideas on getting the resolution to work in games and any other people having lag or flicker issues? Thanks.
