i got my studio back after the Blue-ray failed, they decided to replace the motherboard, optical drive and the speakers, very strange why they decided to replace all those parts
well after getting the laptop back i have had a issue which dell is meant to be sending a engineer to fix today
check out these temps reported via hwmonitor
Hardware monitor ACPI

Temperature 1 82°C (179°F) [0xDE0] (TZ01)
Temperature 2 91°C (195°F) [0xE3A] (TZ02)
Hardware monitor Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo P8600
Temperature 0 83°C (181°F) [0x11] (Core #0)
Temperature 1 83°C (181°F) [0x11] (Core #1)
Hardware monitor WDC WD32 00BJKT-75F4T

do you think that they would need to now replace the processor??

Sounds to me like they did a crappy job with the thermal pads/paste after reinstalling the motherboard. When the Dell person comes out, make sure they put new thermal paste on. Push for it, do not accept just the thermal pads.

Dell never turned up
had to boot it up due to needing files from the hdd, and it now smells like its on fire, nice
