    Hot when standby

    Hello. My 6000 gets hot and the fan is loud when it goes into standby. When I go to class and come back, its hot and the fan doesn't slow down unless I restart. The fan never kicks in that high when I use it, but only when I don't. Whats going on? Thanks.

    in standby, applz are still running. try closing all applz before going into standby

    Also, as stated before, while in stand-by programs can still run. If you have the computer on my performance I don't think it speed steps. So if you change that you can speedstep that way the processor isn't always running at full-speed.

    You should consider hibernation instead of stand-by.
