I would like to buy the updated Dell Precision 4300. Before I do it, I would like to ask if anyone knows if it is possible to plug-in an internal Bluetooth module (which I plan to buy from Dell separately, as there is no option currently available at the customization page)? And if Dell ever plans to use DDRIII RAM memory in its notebooks, and more importantly, when such RAM becomes available on, let's say newegg or other retail stores, would it be possible to substitute with it DDRII RAM used in Precision 4300? I would appreciate any input on that.

    Cheers.

Maaan this sucks! I though DDR3 slots are backward compatible and Dell uses DDR2 RAM for the time being with the plan to upgrade it later with DDR3! Does anyone know if this is a case or Dell uses DDR2-800 slots only and there will be no way to install faster memory later? Thank you very much for the input, WYWERN 209!

DDR2 is not compatible in any way with DDR3.

Bluetooth is available now on the configuration site, yeah. And it comes with DDR2 ram that is NOT later upgradeable to DDR3 RAM, but I wouldn't worry about that at all. From what I've heard, current DDR3 ram gets you hardly any performance boost compared to DDR2 ram, but costs about twice as much.

Not twice as much, and as time goes on manufacturer's will bring the latency of DDR3 down (as well as the price will drop) as has been done in the past.
At this point, given that track record, I would opt for DDR3.

DDR3 ram is too expensive right now and i wouldn't worry about ir. ddr2 800 ram is plenty for the normal user.

PC100 SD ram was plenty for the normal user too...but look where we are now.
