Hi all,
I'm just wondering and try to find out for myself how HOT is your M1530 with respect to my configuration (in my signature) and/or general M1530. Just received this lappy a week ago, and decided to run a coretemp and everest ultimate stress test - duration of the test was for about 1hr 30min, and lappy was not elevated on a desk, normal height with the 6-cell battery.
Room temp - 20c-25c (mild weather)
IDLE temp - 45c-52c
Full load (100% cpu) - 65c-73c
Now, I haven't done enough research to find out, so I posted my result hopefully someone will comment on this whether this is NORMAL or Just my luck!
p.s. This is a U.S. built M1530

mine seem around the same as yours
i've undervolted it now so it idles around 40 and loads around 60-65. but then i overclocked my video card to 715/900 and that adds a few degrees to the cpu load temp
-
Mine idles at about 37C. with cooling pad and arctic silver.
-
I might even consider cooling pad in the long run, and I find it helps a few degrees lower when I elevate my lappy for better air flow. -
-
Ive got the same spec, only with 3gig of ram - uk build.
These are the readings from HWMonitor, undervolted:
ACPI: 50
core 0: 46
core 1: 49
HDD: 39
GPU: 66 -
why are the 1530's hotter than the 1330's which have poorer cooling? In a 26C room mine idles at 33C.
-
graphics card makes a big difference, especially a dedicated one.
my temps are almost the same without the cool pad.
With the pad the temps drop in the mid 30's when idling
but i am undervolted too so my max load is 63C and has never gone above that. -
-
don't worry about the heat. Theres no point of putting your CPU to full load if u don't need to, its just pointless and heats the thing up.
-
Hm... It appears the 9300 runs about 1 C higher on average than the T7500.
-
you can undervolt your processor using RMClock
beware of undervolting it too much though.. i foudn that while everything was completely stable with 0.9875 volts (meaning, loading with orthos), it would randomly restart when playing games (even up to 1.0875 volts).. i'm setttling around 1.1volts when gaming now
-
undervolting guide on sig if needed
-
orthos is not the god almighty test for undervolting. I "broke" mine in by lowering the voltage one increment lower after every couple of days after i felt it was stable. Since im lazy and impatient i wont sit around waiting for orthos to run lol. Also orthos is getting extremely old and i see that its lost its rein with the newer computers than back in the day when it was the god of stress tests and such. -
I used to do this method before, but when i did AV/spyware scans it would BSOD (how will you know which multiplier is too low?). Then i learnt how to test every multipliers stability -
-
Did you also test the other multipliers? -
Mine's pretty close to what OP posted.
Although I don't remember seeing it going over 67 even during heavy gaming.
How HOT is your M1530 w/T9300?
