    Dell Wireless 1390b/g (54Mbps)

Is this network card good? What could be better about it?

It works with B/G networks... most people don't get it because they are brain-washed into thinking that centrino is awesome. It will work for you unless you need to reach an A network.

Cool, i found some info on other threads but tell me if im misunderstanding this. Wireless A is phasing out? and B n G are the new, with N draft slowly makings it way into the market when its perfected?

Eh... it's so so as far as I'm concerned. I get a lot of instances where it loses it's connection to my wireless DSL modem, particularly when my notebook comes out of the screen saver mode. Also sometimes the signal strength will randomly drop to a low level and I have to "disable" and "reenable" it to get it back to full speed. Don't know if it's the wireless card but this has never happened to me with any of my previous Intel based wireless cards. It's nothing earth shattering... just occasionally annoying. If I had to do again, I'd probably pop for the Intel version.

I bought the intel card from ebay, the 1390 is inferior in range, speed , reliability.
