Hold it against ur body like a notebook. Don't worry about the wobble, it won't break.

How about holding it by the side or front, not the back?

What is a good bag for this notebook? Is this the Vostro 1500?

"Ever heard of a messenger bag for notebooks?"

Good point. But how do you place the notebook into the bag? Let's assume it is a horizontal messenger bag - do you put the notebook in battery up or down?

I have a Vostro 1400 with the 9-cell battery. And I have been trying to figure out the best way to carry it in a bag. I tried a vertical messenger bag to bypass this question, but find these not comfortable to carry. So, now I'm back at a horizontal bag (Vaude Berlin 1916) and am still wondering about the best way to place the notebook in it.

    Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

There's no right, wrong or best way to carry it. As long as it's in a bag and not moving around then you're gonna be fine no matter how you put it in.

So it's not the placement, it's how careful you carry it afterwards (aka don't run or have the bag bounce hard off your body).

You're laptop will be fine whatever way you carry, as long as it's not bouncing up and down incessantly.

I think people worry about the battery sticking out of the back since it doesn't go the entire width of the laptop. If you place the bag down on the ground it'll put more pressure on the battery than if it were evenly distributed across the width of the laptop.

I think on the side or front seems to be more stable/safer.

I carry mine like a pizza above my head most of the time. Other times i test my posture by balancing my laptop on my head while i walk. Other people might choose more conventional methods by actually holding it under their arms or placing it in a backpack or laptop bag...but those people are silly.

I understand the cirque du soleil has a new act in which a guy juggles eight laptops while riding an unicycle across a high wire.
