    How are people getting the NVIDIA GeForce 8600m in the 1500 Vostro?

    :confused: When I try to customize the 1500 vostro the highest video card I can get is the 8400 not the NVIDIA GeForce 8600m/. I can witht he vostro 1700 but not witht he 1500. How did you get the NVIDIA GeForce 8600m with the vostro 1500? :confused:

    Where are you trying to order from?
    The vostro 1400/1500/1700 are getting replaced.
    The vostro 1500s in the UK are completely gone, maybe they are starting to push the new vostros at other countries now.

    i'm trying to do this on dell.com but the only place where I can get the 8600 is on the vostro 1700 but I want it in the 1500.

    I talked to a Dell rep yesterday and they made it official that since they are phasing out the Vostro 1400, 1500 and 1700, parts/options were limited. I called, emailed and chatted with all kinds of Dell reps to get a 8600GT with my new Vostro that I just ordered yesterday, but no luck. They got really pissy with me about even asking about it!

    The best thing to do is either order one from the outlet or just buy one with a 8400 and buy a 8600GT refurb graphics card from Dell's website. Install it yourself, that's what I plan on doing.
