I was going to buy a XPS, but I really have to have a back lit keyboard so I am most likely going to buy a Studio 15. How bright is the keyboard back lighting? Is it as bright as the Macbook Pros?

I think it is as bright as the MBPs at the highest setting...

Not familiar w/the Macs but the Studio Back lit keyboard is nice & bright.
It also has 3 adjustments: Hi, lo & off. It also automatically goes off after a few seconds if your not using the keys or touchpad. It will then turn back on after touching a key or the pad again. Hope this helps.

If you didn't order the option you (probably)don't have a back lit keyboard.
It should be 'ON' by default. If not hold down the 'Fn' key, tap the right arrow key. (That key should be imprinted with both a right arrow and an icon that represents a glowing keyboard.)
If you don't have one you can get one off eBay for around $32 & it's fairly easy to install.
    The model number is: KR766

Certain model. The G72GX and G60VX, for instance, both include backlit keyboards as a standard feature. If a model doesn't have the option for it when you order it, though, you won't be able to just add one.
