I bought my L502X back in february when they first came out.

I bought this system so I could do some gaming even though I know its not a perfect gaming rig.

However I am one of the small minority of users who has some sort of hardware deffect. When I am playing on AC adaptor power and using the full power of the GPU GT540 graphics card my laptop will freeze up from 5 minutes to 15 minutes of play time.

I am getting frustrated with dell tech support and maybe I am just not being firm enough with them when I call. I need help I have seen others on this forum with similar issues get replacement or even upgraded laptops due to this deffect. I only have the basic 1 year parts/replacement after dell diagnostic warranty.

I have let them do diagnostics and even remote in and uninstall everything on my laptop 4 times. These calls can be over 2hours of my time reinstalling windows 7 and all drivers.

I have let them send a contracted technician to replace my mother board, that did not fix the problem, I let them take my laptop to the repair depot and they repasted all the cooling paste on the GPU/CPU as well as verified connections of the system did diagnostics.

So we are talking about 2 months of back and forth calls and work on my laptop and it still locks up using my games when I am on AC power. The system does not lock up on battery power so there must be some physical deffect in the construction I really want a system that works.

I called dell again yesterday and they stated well no we cant offer a system replacement because we have not tried everything yet... I asked what could you possibly try now? They are requiring me to replace my AC adaptor and see if it still has the problems... I tried to explain to them I had a 1645 SXPS that had the same voltage/gauge adaptor and it does not matter what power source I use when its on AC charging it will crash when using the GPU...

Maybe I am just a push over I let them send the AC adaptor should be here in a day or 2 but when it also still crashes and I call back what are other customers saying to be able to get a replacement system or possibly even upgrade to alienware with these deffects that I am not saying?

I have asked repeatedly to please just replace the system instead of wasting money and my time replacing parts but no one at dell tech support has agreed with me.

Any help or advice on what I should state when I call back next week after testing my new AC adaptor?

Well finally some results I finally got them to agree to get a replacement laptop.

Now I was happy at first but its been 2 days and the rep said he would send in a replacement order for the next higher end system an L702X system. I asked some general questions like validating they would keep me with a blue ray drive and video card but the rep did not know the model numbers and specs of everything.

I agreed to get the replacement started so it could get here asap but so far its been 2 daya and no email with the specs.

If I call them with my dispatch number should they be able to look up what specs my replacement should have?
