    im installing drivers on e1405 and i use dell support but i cant find out which driver is proper for me.
    all i know that its 1280x800 WXGA Quanta.
    now it shows Plug and Play monitor.

    Device Manager->Monitors->Plug and Play Monitor->Properties->Details

    you don't need drivers for your display, just the video card. the drivers on the dell site are for external displays

    If you really know what it is you can check dell's support site with your service tag.

    thanks everyone
    i already chatted with dell online support. they told me the same thing as drumfu. i thought the drivres are for my screen not for external monitors.
    i did a clean reinstall of windows , now everything is running quick and smooth.
