My 1721 arrived today and I am so pleased! She is a beauty and I am not even bummed I cancelled my pink order for the white, heck when you are working on your puter you can't even see the color anyway!

But..I need some help, I cannot figure out how to go about burning a movie DVD??? I thought it would be pretty easy but... any suggestions? Of course, I have Vista on my lappy.

if your talking dvd video, its not easy, and not completely legal...however, if one was hypothetically thinking of such a thing, dvd decrypter and dvd shrink are good programs to start with which are also free...other wise dvdxcopy is good (i hear) and so is 1 click dvd.

    Use Nero?

What exactly are you trying to do?

Well, I am just trying out my DVD burner on my lappy and was going to copy and burn a kids movie so that I could have an extra copy to give my granddaughter and keep the original copy safe as she scratches them up and then they dont play in my DVD player.

I can't figure out how to use the Vista Player to burn the DVD's or Data CD's for that matter.

you wont find a way to rip and burn a dvd with the preinstalled programs or nero for that matter, like suggested you could use dvd decrypter to rip the dvd and dvd shrink to burn it

Yes, DVD Decrypter will remove the files from the DVD, DVD shrink will put them into a size that can fit on another DVD, and this conversation never happened.

Dvd Shrink will rip the movie and DVD Decrypter or Nero will burn the DVD

You can use a DVD burner to burn data DVDs and your own movies (which I have done).

And google is your best friend.
