I am looking at a Dell Latitude D410 in the Small Business at Dell.com. Do I need a resale licence? Can I get a number from my employer? Or what?

No, you don't have to be a business to buy from the small business part of the site. It's just for marketing.

Yea Dell small business is mostly just a title. Basically, they have the title because their notebooks are higher quality, trackpoint, removable optical drives, which are all features business users would want. However, these features are also desired among non business users.

It would be funny if dell decided to only make their latitude lines available to small business owners. They would loose alot of money.

      WHAT?!?!?!

I tried THREE TIMES to order my Latitude, and each time, they said no. Said I needed a business or state tax code to set up an account.

Luckily, my brother owns a business, so I set it up through him. Had to give them my bro's business tax code.

    This is what I did:

I ordered an Inspiron 9400, which I wanted to finance. But I relaly needed the PCMCIA slot for a special audio card I use.
I went online the next day, and using one of their online reps, cancelled the Inspiron, and used the same pre-approved financing to switch to a D820.

Took all of 30 minutes to email my shopping cart with the D820 to the rep, him calling me to verify my fiancing, and thatw a sit.
Itw as shipped out on the 18th, and I'm now waiting for arrival. :)
