Its a neat feature to have but its just slowing down my Boot and restarts from Sleep plus it adds an extra step when I bring the laptop out of sleep. So Ho Do I full disable either in Services or the Finger print scanner hardware itself.?

    thanks board.

It sounds like what you want to do is disable requiring a password at bootup and waking up from sleep. If you're being asked for a fingerprint scan now, disabling the scanner will mean you have to type it in instead.

no i am not asked for a password or anything I simply want to disable it period.

not only does it add an extra step on wake from sleep but its always drawing a tiny amount of power.

What I am saying is that if you are being asked to swipe a finger at login, you will be asked to type a password instead if you disable it. The finger swipe is a substitute for a password. What you need to do is in your user account disable the need for a password at boot up, and in the power settings (I think) disable it on wake up from sleep.

When the computer doesn't ask for a password, it doesn't ask for a fingerprint either.

Correct, I am not asked for a password or finer scan at all ever. Its only an option instead of pressing Enter or clicking on my username.

what I am trying to accomplish is to fully disable the finger print hardware

You can probably go into device manager, look under "Personal Identification Devices" and disable the device under that group. It should say "AuthenTec Inc" followed by a model number. Right click on it and hit "Disable"
Also look under Add/Remove Programs for "DigitalPersona", which is the software that works with the reader.
