Lots of people on the forums are able to identify all their components very specifically (monitor, ram, hd manufacturer, etc). How do I find this out? All I see are general components on my bill Only way I could think of is to open up the computer and look for serials. Is there something I'm missing?

Try Everest, CPU-Z, as those softwares analyze andgive you info about your laptop

downloaded cpu-z, and tested them out on my current lappy. Gave me all the info. Once I get my e1505, i'll be sure to check that too. Also dled everest and it displayed a lot of info, but on the site it says the freeware has been discontinued, so I don't know how well it'll work on a new laptop.

you can download a program to analize your pc or you can just look at the shhet with the specs on your pc that came with it.
