Okay, I'm new to this pcmark05/benchmarking your laptop thing. So can someone help me with this.

    This is what I have:

    Dell XPS m1330
    Intel C2D 2.2 ghz T7500 processor
    3GB DDR2 Ram
    160gb 7200rpm HDD
    NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M GS

and running PCMARK05, with no programs open, I got a lowly 2207...

am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated.

I only did it to see how fast my new computer was. Is it my computer or the program that caused the low score? Everywhere else I've looked I've seen higher m1330 scores, even in m1330's with lower specs than mine

Yeah... can someone explain that? I can understand that because of it's small size, it doesn't have a powerful gpu, causes a small score, but if it gets a smaller score than other similar xps 1330's, I don't understand that one myself...

Here is my score with the system described below:

If I may offer some assistance, do a 'Dell Clean Install' followed by the 'Tweaking Thread, both of which are hyperlinked in my signature block. Although you won't reach this, you will find a significant difference in your score.

Notice the HDD score. It is because I am using an Mtron Pro SSD which is the fastest on the market.

    Hey flamenko,

I question for you. Should I wait until the BIOS A07 shows up on Dell driver/bios page before doing the reformat you suggested? I want the latest BIOS and that appears to be the one, but it is not on Dells support site yet.

Thanks for a very fast reply. Shouldn't I wait then. I'm not in a hurry, but I do want to try EVERYTHING on your page:

I would have no fear in doing it now and then just updating the bios when it comes. You may elect not to if everything works out perfect for you.

famenko, if I do this, how much improvement you think it will be over my current scores? Is is worth the time to do it?

PCMark05 score of 5880 with my XPS 1530.

I'm sorry but I couldn't provide that estimate as I haven't got that system. I just thought I would provide my own results to show validity in the fact that a Clean Install and Tweaking will increase the final result.
