    Hi,

Is there a way to see if my SVideo card on my Dell 1525 laptop is installed?

Is there anyway to test if it is working other than to plug it into another SVideo port?

    Thanks

What you just asked is the following:

Is there any way to see how Porsche drives without driving it?

Mate, the best way to check if the S-Video works is to hook it up to something. Software often says one thing and it is another.

I have tried hooking it up to something and it doesn't work. I do not know if it is the laptop or the cable as I have nothing else to test the SVideo cable on.

Can I check in device manager to see if it is installed?

The S-Video is a part of the graphic card. If the graphic card is installed, the S-Video is installed. Would you be kind enough and explain what set up you used when it did not work?

I connected an SVideo cable between the laptop and a scart adapter which is plugged into a TV.

Did you do what this tutorial shows?

Tutorial. Tis old but this is what I do...roughly when I connect my AMILO via S-Video.

Is your scart adapter like mine, with a switch?

I have plugged it in again and it's kind of working. Have to play around with it to get to get it in colour though and when it is it is a bit fuzzy. Any ideas why this is?

Scart adaptor has an input.output swtich. It's set to input.

If it is on input, then you are on the right track.

There could be many reasons for that.

    1. Bad connection
    2. Bad cable
    3. Need to update/rollback drivers
    4. Faulty TV Out.
    5. Faulty TV S-Video input.
    6. Cable is good but not shielded properly.

Or I could be a mile off and the cause can be something else :p.
