    How do I know if my Vostro 1500 Xp Machine is utilizing both cores?

    Well, you can be sure that it is using them, but if you want to see, get a program like Speedfan, Everest, or others- they will tell you the temp and the load percentage on each core if you look for it, it may be in something like Advanced. Hope I could help.

    In windows you could just bring up the task manager and click the performance tab, while running a couple programs to tax the cpu, there should be two graphs and they should both be being used. Or just use speedfan, the CPU usage is impossible to miss.
