    Specifically the F-keys.

currently the dominant functions of f1-5, and 7-12 are:
screenswitch, wireless, battery, brightness down, brighness up, mute, volume up, volume down, rewind, play/pause, and fast forward.

This means any time I want to use one of these F-keys i have to press function...it also means that when I'm playing wow if my hand slips while hitting the 2 key I end up disconnecting my self from the game (internet off!) UNACCEPTABLE!

So yeh, how can I fix this?

Normally I wouldn't bother about this but my wife has a Studio 15 and when I "fix" her PC this thing drives me nuts.

I did a bit of googling about this and it looks like there's a switch in BIOS to lock the F keys. Have a go and see if that works. I'll check it on my wifey's laptop later if I don't forget.

ya its a simple bios switch , and yes its true pressing fn to use function keys is crazy - especially if you are doing development, since most of the times debug (step over, step into , etc) are all function keys .. and its a pain to have to press fn. thats the first thing i would like to do for every dell studio thats shipped, it should come with that as default, and not like the way it is now.

    Thanks.
