I have a new Vostro 1500, although I imagine that any answer will be the same for the 15" inspiron.

When I suspend the laptop under Windows the blue led blinks. And worse there are two of them (or maybe one with two sides?)....so even when I shut the cover the light is blinking.

It's really annoying when I want to sleep. Can anyone tell me what I can do so it never blinks again?

There's only one, but there's no way to turn it off...other than to turn off your notebook ;)

The idea with the blinking LED is to tell you that u are running in standby mode i.e. RAM will require power, and hence you are eating your battery.

The second blink you see is from the battery charger. I wish this would never blink, because I don't need this notification, I can see the adapter wire connected to the side.

I wish Dell BIOS was smart enough to figure that if I am sleeping in standby (suspend-to-ram) and charger is on, I can switch both LEDs off because its safe to not notify user of this condition. Then, many folks will sleep peacefully!

Of course, standby blink doesn't apply if you hibernate, where in your memory image is saved on the disk and power completely turned off (laptop is not on battery anymore).
