How do I use the USB ports on my dell precision m4800?

I tried sticking some USB things into the USB ports but they won't fit except for one.

What are some things you would try? See pic 20141021_224533.jpg

I have tried plugging in USB 2 and 3 into all of them. Doesn't fit.

The dell website says there are 4 USB 3 ports but some reviews say it has 4 USB 2 ports. None of my USB ports are blue. What can I do to determine?

The chances are that the USB ports are USB 3 as stated on the website. The reviews were probably done on an older model, since Dell seems to refresh its lineup every year. Either way, USB 3 and USB 2 are compatible with each other.

Could you take a picture of the plugs?

...It should fit. All four of mine work fine.

Ports on new computers can sometimes be a bit stiff but will loosen up with use.

Just make sure that the plug is the right way up and push firmly.
