I cancelled my order for a new Dell Studio 17 on the 30th of November (the delay on getting the system was ridiculous), but as of this lunchtime I still haven't been refunded my money from this company

Does anyone have a good contact number for Dell complaints that isn't based in India? Just their customer service is now utterly abysmal, and I've spent so long on the phone to them over the last 2 weeks it must have cost me a fortune, and I STILL don't have my money.

I've owned 5 Dell computers in total now, and after this awful experience I have to admit that I will NEVER own another one again.
When they were based in Ireland you knew you were getting a well built computer, that was backed up by superb customer service, and excellent technical help.
Now they've moved everything out to India I wouldn't touch them ever again, as their customer service standards have dropped off a cliff

In my case they didn't take the funds from my account until after the laptop had shipped.

Did you pay by credit card, if so you may have some recourse there.

Do Dell's terms and condition say anything about a time frame for issuing refunds?

I would say 30 days is more than enough to process a refund. They've already had more than half that, so...

I would email them, maybe even write to the them, giving them until the end of the month to give you the money.

If they don't comply, then contact your credit card company. Assuming, that is, you paid using a credit card.

Any update on this? Normally in this US, you are not charged until your system is about to ship/(be invoiced).

At the beginning, before your order go's into production a "pre authorization charge" is put on your CC ~ to be sure your funds are available to cover the system.

So, if you were charged ~ and you did pay by CC you should check with your credit card company about any type of recourse if it's been 30 days.

After spending hours on the phone they have told me it takes 3 hours from cancellation ... it's been 24+ though ...

Anyway they promised EoD and it's back in now! I can relax now.
