Hey guys, I'm setting up a Studio 1537 for my brother and can't figure out how to make it so the NUMLOCK status is off by default when turning the computer on.

In the past, this is usually controlled in the BIOS, but I couldn't locate the setting in the BIOS. It was late last night, so maybe I was just tired and couldn't see it.

Does anyone else have a Studio 15 and has been able to figure out how to do this?

    Thanks and happy holidays! :D

I have a 1535 today (1537 comes tomorrow), but on my 1535 it is still in the BIOS...

Which page is the setting located in your BIOS? I'll verify if it's the same way on the 1537 when I get home from work today.

So pointless to just work for two days, they should've just given us the whole daym week off!

There is no NumLock setting in the BIOS for the 1537. If my memory serves me correctly, if you turn the NumLock off when Vista is running and restart the computer, the NumLock will be off when Vista is running again after the reboot. However, during the boot process, I believe it goes on and off several times.

It's also frustrating that there is no way to control the screen brightness in the BIOS, as my Studio 1537 never remembered what brightness it was set to and always was back at full brightness everytime the computer was rebooted.

    Hm strange guys!
I have 1535 and Yes NumLock can be controlled via/in the BIOS!

I hope Dell will make new BIOS with NumLock and Brightness control for you too.
By the way I know Num Lk LED very easy burn-out, so my is turned off!
