I got a e1705 with a 3 year warranty.
If in about 2 years my notebook's harddrive or any other part breaks down they replace it for free?
I remember back then when i had a dell dimension 4100 like around i think december '00 lol. They would send me the part replacement in a matter of days and then they would have a box for you to ship it back out at no charge to you. Is the dell warranty still the same as it was back then?

Pretty much the same thing as what you describe. I think with the 3 year warranty you get at home service, so generally 9 times out of 10 they will offer to send a tech to your house within 24-48 hours.
If you don't want a tech to come out, and would just like the part to be sent to you, you have to argue a bit to get that to happen, but it is possible. For me, I'm rarely home, so a tech coming to my house isn't an option, but I've been able to talk Dell into just sending the parts to me.
You'll usually get the parts in about 2 business days, and a return shipping label to send it back.

How does dell's notebook limited warranty work?
