    How fast Dell ship E6400? Preliminary date is 3/17/09

    Hi All,

    We'd like to order E6400, preliminary date was 3/17/09. How fast do you get your laptop? Do they generally ship faster than the preliminary date?

    Are you buying new or from the Outlet? Unless a given machine has just been released, they usually ship significantly earlier than the preliminary date; the late estimated date simply gives Dell some headroom if they mess up. I'd say you can usually get a new machine in about a week, and an Outlet machine in a few days. Given, of course, that this is a machine like the E6400 which has been around for a while.

    They will likely ship before that date. Don't worry :) In my experience, they give you the worst case scenario so your expectations are set. And in most cases, customers get a pleasant surprise when the laptop ships early.

    Unless you outfitted a part in your E6400 that is out of stock, it is unlikely it would ship late as this is a pretty standard corporate laptop,
