OK let's post your laptop's ratings from Vista so that we know how strong Dell is compared to other brand.

This is my ratings from Vista
    http://catennacio.net/images/rating.jpg

    My specs:
    Duo core 1 T2500 2.00Ghz
    2GB Gskill DDR2 PC5300 667Mhz
    60HDD 7200RPM
GeforceGo 7900GS 256MB (dedicated) and 256 borrowed from system RAM by Vista
    Wifi 3945abg + bluetooth

This is the specs from Averatec 12.1" from another forum:
    http://catennacio.net/images/averatec.jpg

Specs: 12 inches. 1 GB ram, AMD turion 64 X2 dual core 1.6. 100GB hard drive. DVD RW

    I have these concerns:
    - Since my lowest score is the CPU (4.7), which is equivalent to a 1.83 Duo core 2 (I measured on different machine), is everyone getting the same score? The score of 4.6 is from an AMD Turion X2 1.6Ghz!!!
    - My memory is so slow (only 4.9) although I use latest tech that the memory world can offer. However the Averatec one shows they have very high rating on memory (5.1). I dont know why. Maybe their front side bus is 800Mhz?

Please post your ratings (and your specs, of course) so we can learn how to tweak our system!

    Thanks.

Jeez, give people some time to respond. Don't bump your topic until at least 24 hours have passed.

i dont understand the sentence "THere are no specifics drivers available " thats why i ask. it could mean he has not installed the driver for his laptop yet (maybe he knows what they are), so he's unsure about the accuracy of the ratings.

i post my concern here in the wish to maximize my performance. if you can answer i appreciate, if not pls let the person who is asked answer.

    thanks

Your fine, the performance index is far from perfect, dont worry about it.

AMD owns intel in memory benchmarks due to the on chip memory controller, A64's will dominate in that catagory everytime until intel follows suit, which they should be doing in the near future, my desktop, A64x2 scores a 5.9 in the memory department with 2 GB DDR 400.
