I am definitely looking for a lappy(most likely Vostro 1400 or 1500) to replace my 3 year old sony vaio.
But there are 11 new processors coming out soon.
How good are these refreshed Santa Rosa and Montevina ?
I want my lappy stick around for about 3 years. :D
    Is it worth to wait?

    Thanks!

Dookie is right. I wouldn't worry about it to much. I would be more worried about the GPU if you are a gamer.

Yeap, but the Montevina platform won't be around til late next year. Though Penryn chipset will be out in a few month.

the new ones are just a die shrink and some instruction sets i think

i wouldn't expect it to be more than 5% increase in performance over same clocked santa rosa cpu

    probably better battery life

    Thanks for your replies.
I am clearly gonna get one if any decent deal comes!
I am not gonna wait for a 5% increase in performance for a entire year... :p
