Dell's site has the starting weight at 7.85lbs but I think mine is about 8 to 8.5lb (with 6-cell).

8lbs 4oz. measured on a postal digital scale with 9 cell battery. The charging cord and brick weighs an additional 1lb 3oz. Heavy compared to the flyweight notebooks out there but one of, if not the, lightest 17 inch notebooks. I had a Sony A series that went about a pound heavier.

I had the 9300 and its weight surprised me (seemed light) even though I knew what it weighed. I assume it had to do with its size - it looks like it should weigh a ton lol I've got an XPS now and it's definitely heavier and hotter.

I have one. I use it to weigh.... MAIL.

I use my reloading scale to weigh other stuff. It's much more accurate.

Well it feels lighter than my old Emachines M6810 but then again the build quality feels much lighter on the Dell too.

The Emachines was supposed to be around 8lbs...

I'd say the 9300 is pretty light for the size :)

Tell it like it is...NOT how it should be :)
